My initial idea was to make the sculpture resembling a christmass tree. It ended much more complex and looked far from christmass tree. Chaos theory says that if there is a possibility for something to happen in the chaotic enviroment (which a rolling ball sculpture with its vibrations, enviromental influences and uneven balls definitely is) it will surely eventually happen.  A rolling ball sculpture can run flawlesly for hours and then when the conditions are right a glitch can happen. Sometimes I wonder if there are some other enviromental influences (other than temperature, humidity, wind/draft) as I’ve seen a ball pop out of the track for no logical reason. I call it a ghost influence 🙂
